Die Kollektion erscheint unter dem Motto „Tourist vs. Purist“. Damit schlägt Virgil Abloh einen Bogen zu den Wurzeln des Modehauses, dass schon Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts die Welt der Reisenden mit seinem wesentlich leichteren, imprägnierten und damit wetterbeständigen Reisegepäck revolutionierte. 

Die Looks stehen für selbstbestimmte Freiheit, für reflektierte und gelöste Männlichkeit, die sich nicht scheut, Zitate zur Mode des späten 19. Jahrhunderts, zum Western oder zur Welt der Biker zu bringen. Das Setting, eine marmorne Halle aus grüngrauen Wänden auf hellem Boden, ist ganz dem international Style des Midcentury gewidmet. Ein Airport und damit Beginn einer Reise ganz im Stil Mies van der Rohes.

Rich colors and inspiring color combinations were already aplenty at the Milan shows. Virgil Abloh’s Fall-Winter 21/22 Men’s collection for Louis Vuitton provided me with templates for my illustrations, where I was again able to use radiant hues en masse. What a joy! And exactly what I want for winter. The sky is already gray enough at this time of year. At Louis Vuitton, emerald green and sunny yellow shine in tandem. In addition, there is much, much camel from the coats, pants and roll collars. I especially love this and it gives a wonderfully calm background for color accents. For baby blue, for example.
The collection appears under the motto „Tourist vs. Purist.“ With this, Virgil Abloh draws a bow to the roots of the fashion house that already revolutionized the world of travelers in the mid-19th century with its much lighter, impregnated and thus weather-resistant luggage.
The looks stand for self-determined freedom, for reflected and solved masculinity, which is not afraid to bring quotes to the fashion of the late 19th century, to the Western or to the world of bikers. The setting, a marble hall of green-gray walls on a light floor, is entirely dedicated to the international style of the Midcentury. An airport and thus the beginning of a journey entirely in the style of Mies van der Rohe.
